Overview

The 2027 Fischer Nightstick 97 is a freestyle twin for skiers who want a park-oriented shape that can still serve as a resort all-mountain ski. Its mid-90 mm waist leaves room for soft snow and bumps without making groomer turns as slow as a wider powder ski. The shape and construction carry over from the previous season.

A poplar core sits within sandwich sidewalls, with a Titanal insert around the binding area that Fischer says helps protect the edges from deformation on rails. Twin tips and Freeski Rocker at both ends make switch skiing and pivoting easier, while camber underfoot supports grip and energy through a turn. SkiEssentials testers found it smooth and composed on firm snow, though comments vary on edge hold and some found it chattery when pushed fast.

Pick the Nightstick 97 if park laps, jumps and switch skiing are central to your day, but you also want one ski for trees, bumps and ordinary groomer runs. The 163–184 cm range spans quick, shorter options and longer sizes with more platform. Its twin-tip shape and more centered stance can feel less natural to a directional skier, and it will not replace a dedicated carving ski for locked-in turns on hard snow. Testers describe it as accessible for its freestyle brief, with enough support for advanced riders who want a playful resort ski.

Construction & features

What the Nightstick 97 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar core and sandwich sidewalls

A full wood core provides the flex and rebound, while sandwich sidewalls support the edges through carved turns and repeated park use.

  2. 02

    Titanal edge reinforcement

A Titanal insert in the binding area helps prevent the edges from deforming when landing on rails, according to Fischer.

  3. 03

    Twin-tip Freeski Rocker profile

Rockered tips and tails make the ski easier to pivot and ride switch, while camber underfoot supports pressure and rebound on snow.

  4. 04

Flat ski — bindings sold separately

This is the ski-only configuration. Bindings are sold separately and are not included in the listed ski weight.
