Overview

The 2027 Extrem Final Opinion 118 is a dedicated powder ski for deep snow, open faces and big mountain lines. Its 118 mm waist and long rocker at both ends create a broad, maneuverable platform that can float when the snow is deep and release when the skier wants to smear a turn. The two available lengths are 187 and 194 cm, with the longer ski offering a broader platform for taller or faster skiers.

A light poplar and paulownia core keeps weight manageable for a ski this wide, while the long tip and tail rocker help it rise and pivot in soft snow. Extrem describes it as stable and easy to handle for its width, with use extending to packed snow and spring slush. A wide ski with a long rocker profile still requires space to work and gives up some quick edge-to-edge response on firm pistes. Its lighter feel also means it will not have the same planted mass as a heavy metal-laminate charger.

Choose the Final Opinion 118 if your priority is powder and you ski terrain with enough open space to use a wide, rockered ski. The 187 cm is the more manageable option; the 194 cm adds float and support for a larger skier or higher speeds. For mostly groomed days or firm snow, the narrower Project 100 or a frontside model is a more suitable choice. Bindings are sold separately.

Construction & features

What the Final Opinion 118 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    118 mm powder platform

The wide waist adds flotation in deep snow, while taper and rocker create a platform that can be steered and smeared.

  2. 02

Long rocker at tip and tail

Long rocker at both ends raises the ski in powder and helps release it when changing direction.

  3. 03

    Poplar and paulownia core

Poplar and paulownia provide a lighter wood core that supports maneuverability without making the ski feel insubstantial.

  4. 04

    Rubber damping

Rubber inserts in the tip and tail are intended to reduce vibration in variable snow.

  5. 05

    Flat ski; bindings sold separately

The official page offers the ski without bindings; bindings are selected separately.
