Overview

The 2027 Blizzard Rustler 11 is the widest and most powder-focused member of the Rustler line. Its 112 mm waist in the 168–180 cm sizes and 114 mm waist in the two longest lengths give it the surface area to stay composed in deep snow, while the rockered profile keeps the ski maneuverable when the terrain tightens. The 2027 SkiEssentials test confirms an unchanged construction, shape and graphic, focused on freeride days rather than daily hardpack mileage.

Trueblend Free combines beech, poplar and paulownia in a woodcore tuned by zone, while FluxForm Freeride Ti places tapered titanal pieces along the ski and reinforces the area underfoot. That combination adds damping and edge support through wind-buffed snow and crud without making the extremities feel dead. Rockered tip and tail with camber underfoot help the ski plane and pivot in soft snow, and full ABS sidewalls keep pressure transfer predictable when a landing or firm traverse asks for more support.

Choose the Rustler 11 for a soft-snow quiver ski when float and playful steering matter more than quick edge changes on groomers. SkiEssentials testers found it surprisingly stable and energetic for a 114 mm freeride ski, with useful grip through mixed snow, but also described it as a specific powder/freeride tool. It suits advanced to expert skiers who can use its width and want room to ski creatively. For frequent firm-resort days, Rustler 9 or 10 will be easier to roll edge to edge; for touring, its resort construction is comparatively heavy.

Construction & features

What the Rustler 11 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Trueblend Free Woodcore

Zones the beech, poplar and paulownia core so the ski can stay supportive underfoot while flexing more readily toward the ends.

  2. 02

    FluxForm Freeride Ti

Tapered titanal pieces calm the ski in chop and support edge grip while leaving the tip and tail more adaptable in soft snow.

  3. 03

Rockered tip, camber underfoot, rockered tail

Rocker at both ends improves float and pivoting, while camber underfoot retains contact on firmer transitions.

  4. 04

    Full ABS sidewalls

Full ABS sidewalls transmit pressure to the edges and protect the sandwich build in hard use.

  5. 05

    112–114 mm freeride platform

The wide waist prioritizes flotation and soft-snow stability; it trades some quickness on firm pistes for that support.

  6. 06

    Flat ski

Bindings are selected separately; the manufacturer supplies a binding recommendation rather than an included system.
