Overview
The Atomic Bent Chetler 120 is a deep-snow freeride ski for storm days, open faces and creative lines where flotation matters more than hardpack precision. Its 120 mm waist and full-wrap HRZN 3D tips and tails give it a large, loose platform, with a poplar Light Woodcore keeping the broad platform mobile. SkiEssentials confirms a graphics update with unchanged construction for 2027. The broadest Bent family ski is aimed at skiers who want a surfy, playful powder tool rather than an everyday resort ski.
Full-wrap HRZN 3D raises the edges around both ends, increasing effective surface area and reducing the chance of a hook when the ski is pivoted or landed switch. Powder Rocker gives the tips and tails early rise for float, while camber underfoot keeps the ski from feeling completely flat when snow firms up. The poplar core keeps weight manageable and the ash binding-reinforcement band adds strength underfoot. The result is quick release, easy slashes and a balanced feel in deep snow, with less damping than a metal-laminate charger.
Choose it for deep powder, trees and freestyle movement when you can keep your weight centred and let the ski plane. Advanced and expert skiers will get the most from its width and loose feel. It can handle short groomer links, but the wide platform rolls slowly edge to edge and its light construction is less composed in heavy chop than a heavier directional ski. For mixed resort conditions, the Bent 110 or a narrower all-mountain ski is easier to live with; for the deepest days, this is the Bent family's float-first option.
