Overview

The Salomon QST Blank Team + L6 GW is a junior freeride package for young skiers moving from groomed runs into powder, natural features and park laps. It borrows the visual identity of the adult S/LAB QST Blank while using a size range and construction intended for juniors. The shorter lengths have 84 and 88 mm waists; the 146 and 152 cm versions widen to 92 mm for more soft-snow support.

A poplar woodcore supplies a lively, supportive platform, and full sandwich sidewalls transfer pressure to the edges on firmer sections. Rocker at both ends helps the ski pivot in soft snow and makes switch landings easier, while camber underfoot maintains contact when crossing groomed runs. The 9–13 metre turning radii keep the shape relatively compact as the lengths increase. The package includes a Juniortrack interface and L6 GW bindings.

Choose it for an intermediate or advanced junior who wants to explore beyond the piste and develop a playful style across the resort. The wider platform is useful in fresh snow but takes more effort to roll onto an edge than a narrow learning ski. A child still developing basic turn control is better served by something simpler and narrower; a powerful young skier seeking maximum support at speed may prefer a more demanding construction.

Construction & features

What the QST Blank Team + L6 GW is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Junior freeride shape

A twin-rockered freeride outline supports soft-snow turns, natural features and switch landings for developing young skiers.

  2. 02

    Poplar woodcore

Poplar supplies elastic support and rebound, giving the junior ski a woodcore platform for varied resort terrain.

  3. 03

    Full sandwich sidewalls

Sidewalls along the ski transmit pressure to the edges for predictable contact on firmer snow.

  4. 04

    Tip and tail rocker

Rocker raises the ends to aid flotation and let the ski pivot and release in soft snow.

  5. 05

84–92 mm waist across the size range

The waist progresses from 84 to 88 to 92 mm with length, giving the larger sizes more area for soft-snow support.

  6. 06

    Juniortrack + L6 GW package

The supplied Juniortrack interface and L6 GW bindings form a matched junior package rather than a ski-only listing.
