Overview

The Rossignol Sender Pro Open is a junior freeride ski for moving beyond the groomer and exploring bumps, trees and softer snow. Its 90–92 mm platform offers substantially more surface area than the small Sender Kid-X, with a 136–176 cm size range for growing skiers. A playful outline and progressive rocker favor steering and releasing turns as terrain changes.

A paulownia wood core and fiberglass keep the construction focused on manageable weight and elastic response. Rectangular full sidewalls transmit pressure to the edges, while VAS damping addresses vibration. Tip-and-tail rocker and a progressive sidecut allow carved turns to give way to drifts and smears. The sintered base balances glide and durability. Open identifies a flat ski, so the binding and mounting setup are selected separately.

Choose it for an intermediate or advanced junior who already controls speed and wants a wider freeride platform. It supplies more soft-snow support than a narrow piste ski, at the cost of slower edge changes on hardpack. Its lightweight construction also has a different feel from a heavily reinforced adult freeride ski through rough snow. Radius varies from 9 to 20 metres across the range, so length changes the turning brief as well as the fit.

Construction & features

What the SENDER PRO OPEN is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Paulownia wood core

Paulownia reduces core mass to help a growing freerider steer and maneuver the ski without a heavy adult-style build.

  2. 02

    Fiberglass reinforcement

Fiberglass supports the core while allowing an elastic flex that a developing skier can bend through a turn.

  3. 03

    Rectangular full sidewalls

Full-length vertical sidewalls transmit pressure from the ski to its edges for support through a carved turn.

  4. 04

    VAS vibration damping

Rossignol’s vibration absorption system reduces unwanted vibration to make snow contact feel smoother.

  5. 05

    Twin rocker

Raised tips and tails make the ski easier to pivot and release in uneven or soft snow, with camber retained between the rockered ends.

  6. 06

    Progressive sidecut

The freeride outline is designed to combine edge engagement with the freedom to drift and smear turns rather than lock into one carved arc.

  7. 07

    Open flat ski

The ski is supplied without an integrated binding interface; choose the binding and mounting setup separately.
