Overview

The Rossignol Forza 20 V-FG Xpress is a recreational piste ski for beginners and intermediates building more consistent turns on groomed snow. Its 74 mm waist keeps edge changes manageable, while a broad shovel and shaped outline encourage the ski to turn when tipped. The Xpress interface provides a system setup for resort use. This is the accessible end of the Forza family, with an emphasis on usable flex rather than aggressive carving power.

A poplar core and 1080 fiberglass reinforcement supply the structure. Rossignol uses the glass weave to tune stiffness without relying on excessive reinforcement mass, while V-Profile connects the flex with rebound. Cap construction wraps the topsheet over the sides, favoring ease of handling and resistance to edge chipping. Traditional camber supports contact on prepared runs, with slight tip rocker helping the shovel engage. The oversized sidecut offers a defined arc without demanding a competition-style technique.

Choose it for controlled resort skiing and progression toward cleaner parallel turns. It favors smooth steering and prepared surfaces over straight-line speed, deep powder or fast runs through heavy chop. A stronger, technically accomplished skier may prefer the reinforcement and support of higher Forza models. A wider all-mountain shape is more useful when soft snow regularly takes priority over quick edge changes.

Construction & features

What the FORZA 20 V-FG XPRESS is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar wood core

Poplar balances elasticity, damping and weight, providing a responsive platform for learning linked turns.

  2. 02

    1080 fiberglass reinforcement

The specified glass weave tunes stiffness and torsional resistance while avoiding unnecessary reinforcement mass.

  3. 03

    V-Profile

The shaped reinforcement layer connects flex and rebound, helping the ski respond as pressure builds and releases.

  4. 04

    Cap construction

The topsheet wraps over the sides for accessible handling and resistance to chipping rather than a full vertical sidewall build.

  5. 05

    Camber with tip rocker

Camber supplies edge contact and rebound on groomers, while slight tip rocker eases turn entry.

  6. 06

    Oversized sidecut

A broad shovel and shaped outline support predictable carved arcs as the skier develops edge control.

  7. 07

    Xpress system interface

The Xpress interface is the ski’s integrated resort binding system, rather than a separately drilled flat-ski setup.
