Overview

The 2027 HEAD Oblivion 102 is a wide twin-tip for advanced and expert skiers who mix freeride lines, soft snow and occasional park laps. At 102 mm underfoot, it has enough platform for fresh snow and a playful, switch-friendly outline, while its 22.8 m radius at 181 cm is longer than most park-oriented skis. The 2027 test describes a graphic update with the construction otherwise carried over.

A poplar and recycled PET stringer core sits within HEAD’s Carbon Sandwich Twintip construction, with two carbon layers, fiberglass and damping layers, Tuff-Wall/Edge, ISS, TNT Rocker and a Highly Transparent UHM base. The carbon makes the ski more torsionally stiff and supportive than a softer park twin; the rocker at both ends helps it release, pivot and land switch, while camber underfoot supports a clean carved arc. SkiEssentials testers found it energetic and responsive, though their impressions of maneuverability and stability differed with length and skier.

Choose it if you want one ski that can carve at speed yet still welcomes side hits, jumps and soft-snow detours. Its light swing and twin tips help in the park, but the longer radius and firmer flex reward room and speed; some testers wanted a longer size, while another found the 189 cm powerful but less maneuverable. It is a poor match for a relaxed, short-turn groomer ski or a soft, forgiving park beginner ski. It is sold flat, leaving the binding choice to the skier.

Construction & features

What the Oblivion 102 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar and recycled PET core

HEAD describes this PET-Wood core as poplar wood with recycled PET bottle stringers. The wood forms the core, while the stringers contribute a lighter, resilient layup.

  2. 02

    Carbon Sandwich Twintip construction

Carbon layers reinforce a sandwich sidewall construction. The carbon increases torsional stiffness and support, helping this twin-tip hold an edge and stay composed when driven at speed.

  3. 03

    TNT Rocker

TNT Rocker raises the tip and tail while retaining camber underfoot. The early rise helps the ski release and pivot in soft snow and gives the twin tips room to ski switch; camber supports the edge between turns.

  4. 04

    Tuff-Wall/Edge reinforcement

HEAD lists Tuff-Wall/Edge as a durable sidewall and edge construction. The reinforced sides and edges are intended to tolerate repeated park use and impacts.

  5. 05

    Highly Transparent UHM base

The UHM base forms the ski’s running surface and is designed for glide.

  6. 06

    Flat ski without bindings

The HEAD.com product page presents the ski with no binding selected. Choose a compatible binding separately, or select HEAD’s listed Attack 14 GW package.
