Overview

The Dynastar M-Free 100 Open is the middle width in Dynastar’s playful freeride family: broad enough for soft snow and off-trail detours, yet manageable for groomers on ordinary days. Its twin-tip shape leaves room for side hits and park laps, while the 100 mm waist makes it a more balanced resort ski than a dedicated powder tool. For 2027, the construction carries over with updated graphics. This Open listing is sold without bindings.

A poplar-and-polyurethane Hybrid Core 2.0 sits inside fiberglass and full sidewalls. Dynastar says its three-direction wood layout reduces the need for glued composite layers; the polyurethane helps smooth the ride. Long tip and tail rocker make it easier to release and pivot, while camber supports rebound and edge contact. SkiEssentials testers often praised its smooth, energetic feel and carving for a twin tip, though they differed on its quickness in chopped snow and tight trees. It can hold a turn on firm snow, but is slower edge to edge than a piste ski.

Choose it if you want one resort ski for groomers, bumps, trees, softer snow and some freestyle play, and prefer a lively feel to a heavy, metal-damped charger. Testers’ mixed impressions suggest it rewards a suitable length and an active style: some found it accessible and versatile, while others wanted more maneuverability in technical terrain. It suits advanced skiers through experts. Choose the narrower M-Free 94 for quicker edge changes, or the M-Free 108 for more flotation in deeper snow.

Construction & features

What the M-Free 100 Open is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Hybrid Core 2.0

Poplar wood and polyurethane are combined to balance a lively wood response with a smoother ride; Dynastar says the layup reduces glued composite layers.

  2. 02

    Three-direction wood core

The wood is arranged in three directions so the design can use more natural wood fiber and fewer composite layers, according to Dynastar.

  3. 03

    Progressive rocker

Long rise in the tip and tail loosens the contact points, helping the ski pivot and release in soft or uneven snow.

  4. 04

    Adaptiv Sidecut

The sidecut transitions gradually from the waist toward the tip and tail, supporting smoother turn entry and exit.

  5. 05

    Full sidewalls

Sidewalls run along the ski to transfer pressure to the edges for direct grip and precision.

  6. 06

    Sintered HD base

A dense sintered base is designed to glide across snow conditions and withstand regular use.

  7. 07

    Open/flat ski

Bindings are sold separately; this listing represents the ski-only Open configuration.
