Overview

The Blizzard Rustler 10 is a freeride ski with enough edge support for regular resort laps. It favors skiers who want playful handling in soft snow, bumps and trees while retaining a useful platform on groomers. Most sizes have a 102 mm waist; the longer 186 and 192 cm versions grow to 104 mm for more surface area. It is a wider, more soft-snow-oriented choice than the Rustler 9.

Trueblend Free combines beech, poplar and paulownia with softer zones toward the tip and tail and a denser section underfoot. FluxForm Freeride Ti uses tapered metal pieces to settle the ski through rough snow while leaving the extremities easier to bend and release. The rockered tip and tail, camber underfoot and full ABS sidewalls balance float, pivoting and edge transmission. Compared with the Rustler 9, the wider platform offers more support in soft snow and a more surfy feel, at the cost of quicker edge changes on firm pistes.

Choose the Rustler 10 for an advanced or expert skier who values off-piste snow and variable terrain as much as groomer performance. SkiEssentials testers liked its smooth, playful character, but their findings varied with snow and technique; it still needs an engaged skier on firm surfaces. The metal-supported build rewards balanced input through changing snow. Skiers who spend nearly all day on hardpack may prefer the Rustler 9 or a narrower piste ski, while regular deep-powder days justify a wider platform.

Construction & features

What the Rustler 10 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Trueblend Free Woodcore

Blends beech, poplar and paulownia in tuned density zones, combining easier tip and tail release with a supportive binding area.

  2. 02

    FluxForm Freeride Ti

Tapered titanal pieces calm the ski through crud and landings while preserving a more flexible, playful extremity.

  3. 03

Rockered tip, camber underfoot, rockered tail

Rocker at both ends adds float and steering, while camber underfoot helps retain grip on packed snow.

  4. 04

    Full ABS sidewalls

Full ABS sidewalls pass pressure efficiently to the edges and support stability in a sandwich build.

  5. 05

    102–104 mm platform

A 102 mm waist in shorter sizes and 104 mm in 186/192 cm give more soft-snow support than Rustler 9, with slower edge changes on firm snow.

  6. 06

    Flat ski

Bindings are selected separately; the manufacturer lists suggested bindings rather than an included system.
