Overview

The 2027 HEAD Kore 88 Ti is the narrowest men's/unisex Kore TI ski in the 26/27 catalogue, aimed at skiers who want a firm-snow daily driver with enough width and rocker to leave the groomers. Its 88 mm waist changes edges quickly, while the tip-and-tail rocker gives it more release than a dedicated piste ski. The 2027 SkiEssentials test describes a graphic update to the existing construction.

A karuba-and-beech wood core is reinforced with two Titanal layers and Graphene. HEAD says the metal adds stiffness and damping; the manufacturer also lists a Freeride Sandwich Cap build, flax Hybrid Top Surface and UHM C base. The blend gives the ski a strong platform for carving, and the rocker makes it easier to pivot or smear than a fully cambered carver. Testers found it quick and stable, though some disagreed about how consistently it changed turn shape.

Choose it if you ski aggressively enough to pressure the front of the ski and want one setup for groomers, bumps and tracked snow. SkiEssentials' 2027 testers range from calling it smooth and versatile to finding its turn initiation unpredictable; the common thread is a powerful, frontside-oriented all-mountain character. At 88 mm it offers limited flotation in deep snow, and it is not a light, forgiving beginner ski. A narrower carver suits mostly groomer days; a wider freeride ski is more supportive when powder is the priority.

Construction & features

What the Kore 88 Ti is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Karuba and beech wood core

HEAD's core pairs light karuba with denser beech. The combination aims to keep the ski manageable while giving it a solid platform underfoot.

  2. 02

    Two Titanal layers

Two metal layers add stiffness and vibration damping, supporting edge hold and composure on firm or rough snow.

  3. 03

    Tip-and-tail rocker

Rocker at the tip and tail lifts the contact points sooner than a fully cambered ski, making the ends easier to release and pivot; camber underfoot retains grip.

  4. 04

Hybrid Top Surface and sandwich-cap build

The sandwich-cap construction supports the edges while the flax-based top surface helps protect the ski from chipping. These are construction and durability features, not substitutes for the damping supplied by the metal layers.

  5. 05

    Flat ski without bindings

The selected HEAD product is the flat ski; bindings are sold separately.
