Overview

The 2027 Faction Dancer 99 Ti is an all-mountain ski for advanced skiers who want edge grip and composure from groomers into variable off-piste snow. At 99 mm underfoot it has useful soft-snow width, but its flat tail and two Titanal layers point toward strong forward turns and speed rather than park laps or regular switch skiing.

A poplar and fiberglass core is reinforced by two full-length Titanal sheets. Faction says the metal adds stability and damping; paired with camber underfoot and tip/tail rocker, it aims to hold an edge while smoothing broken snow and easing turn entry. SkiEssentials testers described strong grip and stability on icy and variable conditions, but also called it solid and heavy, and noted it asks for skill and balance to perform at speed on firm snow.

Choose the Dancer 99 Ti if you are an advanced skier who wants a stable, energetic one-ski resort setup and values hard-snow confidence over effortless maneuverability. The 99 mm waist gives it more soft-snow range than a piste carver, but it is not the lightest option for tight trees or deep powder. If you want a more forgiving feel and easier pivots, the metal-free Dancer 99 is the gentler choice.

Construction & features

What the Dancer 99 Ti is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Dual Span Titanal

Two full-length sheets of Titanal reinforce the ski. The metal’s strength helps resist twisting and vibration, supporting edge pressure and composure in rough snow.

  2. 02

    Poplar and fiberglass core

Poplar provides a flexing, lively core; fiberglass layers add strength and support alongside the metal laminates.

  3. 03

    Progressive flat-tail shape

Rocker at the tip and tail helps initiate turns and pivot, while camber underfoot supports edge hold. The flatter tail adds support and drive when finishing forward turns.

  4. 04

    Elliptical sidecut

The sidecut uses a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii at the ends, helping the ski pivot and start turns across a range of turn shapes.

  5. 05

    XL edges and full-strength sidewalls

Full-height sidewalls support power transfer, and oversized edges add material intended to improve durability and grip.

  6. 06

    Flat ski

Bindings are sold separately; the listed ski weight excludes binding hardware.
