Overview
The Dynastar M-Pro W 98 Open is a women’s all-mountain ski with a freeride bias: a directional shape for confident fall-line skiing, plus enough width and rocker to explore soft snow and mixed conditions. At 98 mm underfoot, it can cover groomers, bumps and powder days without feeling like a dedicated deep-snow ski. The 2027 version brings vivid new graphics while retaining the established construction, according to the exact-year SkiEssentials test. This Open configuration is sold without bindings.
A three-direction poplar-and-polyurethane Hybrid Core 2.0 is paired with fiberglass, full sidewalls and Dynastar’s Ti Rocket Frame 2.0 reinforcement. The long-rise tip rocker and directional shape ease turn entry and add float, while the more supportive tail helps finish a turn with authority. SkiEssentials testers found a stable, responsive ski that could grip groomers and handle soft, heavy snow. They also describe it as substantial and demanding, with its metal-backed build favoring a committed skier over a relaxed, low-effort ride.
Choose it if you are an advanced or expert skier who wants one ski for firm runs and off-trail exploration, and prefers a strong, directional feel to a light, playful one. Testers praised its stability and all-mountain range, but the same supportive construction can feel heavy or stiff to skiers who want easy pivoting. Its 98 mm waist is a useful compromise for mixed resort conditions, not a substitute for a wider powder ski on consistently deep days. A narrower all-mountain model will be quicker edge to edge if groomers dominate your season.
Construction & features
What the M-Pro W 98 Open is built from, and what that means on snow.
- 01
Hybrid Core 2.0
The wood-and-polyurethane core is designed to balance a smooth response with less reliance on glued composite layers.
- 02
Three-direction poplar/PU core
Longitudinal, transverse and vertical wood layers are intended to add flex response, torsional control and compression resistance.
- 03
Ti Rocket Frame 2.0
Titanal reinforcement uses a shaped layout to add power and stability while limiting unnecessary mass, according to Dynastar.
- 04
Progressive rocker
A high, long rise at the tip and tail helps the ski release and maneuver, while the directional shape retains support through the turn.
- 05
Adaptativ Sidecut
A gradual transition from waist to tip and tail geometry supports smooth turn initiation and finish.
- 06
Full sidewalls
Full-length vertical sidewalls transmit pressure to the edges for grip and precision.
- 07
Sintered HD base
A sintered base is designed to glide across changing snow conditions.
- 08
Open/flat ski
Bindings are sold separately; this is the ski-only Open configuration.
