Factory 102

The 2027 Extrem Factory 102 is the wider, more freeride-focused member of the Factory pair, built as a one-ski resort choice for skiers who move between groomers, powder, wind-buff and chopped snow. Its 102 mm waist offers more support in soft snow than the Factory 96, while the 176, 184 and 190 cm options step up in both radius and stability as length increases. The two longer lengths are aimed at skiers who prefer longer turns and have the strength to manage a longer ski.

A poplar core and a narrow Titanal insert underfoot give the Factory 102 a lively platform with added grip beneath the binding. Extrem pairs that insert with a progressive flex and tip/tail rocker to help the ski plane and release in soft snow without making it purely powder-specific. The race rubber inserts damp vibration at the ends, while the ski’s rocker and shape allow it to pivot through tracked conditions. Extrem also provides a tail skin clip, a practical detail for short tours or sidecountry climbs.

Choose the Factory 102 if your resort days regularly include soft or broken snow and you still want a ski that can return to groomers. Its wider platform and relatively substantial build are less appealing for frequent hardpack carving, lightweight touring or skiers who favor quick, short turns. The narrower Factory 96 is the more nimble everyday option; Factory 112 gives up more edge-to-edge speed for extra float on big-mountain powder days.
