Overview

The Atomic Maverick 115 CTI is a dedicated big-mountain powder ski for deep snow, open faces and skiers who want a wide platform that can still be pushed. Its 115 mm waist, Powder Rocker and HRZN 3D tip are aimed at float and manoeuvrability rather than everyday piste work. SkiEssentials' 2027 test calls it a specific tool for aggressive skiing and bigger terrain, with a new colour for the season and structural carryover.

The CTI Powered construction blends carbon and titanal with an ash and poplar Power Woodcore, giving the broad ski more torsional support and vibration control than a simple soft powder ski. Rocker at both ends and the tapered outline help it smear and pivot in deep snow; the light published reference weight keeps it mobile. SkiEssentials testers describe a surfy, progressive feel and strong float, but also a directional ski that can feel long and less nimble than softer alternatives.

Choose it for big, open powder and freeride lines where stability and float matter more than quick edge changes. Advanced and expert skiers are the appropriate audience because of the width and long running feel. It can work in trees when the snow is soft, but a 105 CTI is easier to manoeuvre for ordinary resort powder, and a narrower ski is more precise on firm snow. This is a focused powder tool, not a one-ski resort default.
