Ability
The Atomic Bent 110 is a soft-snow freeride ski for powder days, trees, side hits and backcountry freestyle. Its 110 mm waist gives it more flotation than the Bent 100 without moving into the Bent Chetler 120's deep-snow specialist territory. POWDER's exact-year test describes the construction as carried over for 2027, with new Chris Benchetler artwork and a muted topsheet colourway providing the visible change.
The Bent 110 is light, loose and easy to redirect. HRZN Tech at the tip and tail turns up the edges and adds surface area, helping the ski release readily in soft snow. Powder Rocker 25/50/25 combines rocker at both ends with camber underfoot, aiding flotation and pivoting while retaining edge contact for groomer links. POWDER reports a progressive -3 cm mount point that suits a centred freestyle stance. A poplar Light Woodcore keeps it energetic, while the full-length Dura Cap Sidewall adds edge support and durability without making it damp or heavy.
Choose it for slashes, butters, switch landings and quick direction changes rather than high-speed bulldozing. SkiEssentials testers found it playful and forgiving, with useful grip on soft groomers, but noted its soft flex; POWDER likewise found lively short-to-medium-speed handling and less stability in chop than heavier 110 mm skis. Intermediate skiers can grow into it, while advanced and expert freestyle skiers will appreciate its balance. A heavier freeride ski is better for sustained speed or tracked snow, and a narrower ski is more precise on hardpack.
What the BENT 110 is built from, and what that means on snow.
Three-dimensional shaping turns up the tip and tail edges, adding surface area for flotation and helping the ski release and pivot without catching in soft snow.
Pronounced tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot helps the ski float and pivot in deep or variable snow while keeping some edge contact on firmer links.
The raised twin tips and directional outline keep forward skiing in focus but leave room for switch skiing, butters, spins and freestyle movement.
A poplar wood core keeps the ski relatively light and gives it a lively, responsive feel. Atomic publishes 1,750 g per ski at 180 cm, or 3,500 g per pair without bindings.
Full-length sidewalls transmit pressure to the steel edges for support, while the cap construction around the top of the ski improves durability without adding a metal laminate.
Atomic specifies an 87° side edge angle and 1.0° base bevel. These are the factory tuning specifications and can change with later servicing.
POWDER's 2027 review reports a recommended mount 3 cm behind true center, supporting the centered stance and freestyle balance described by its testers.
This is the flat ski supplied without bindings. A compatible binding must be selected and mounted separately; the quoted ski weight excludes that binding.
