Overview

The 2027 Blizzard Canvas 108 is a playful freeride twin tip for soft snow, natural features and a loose approach to resort skiing. Its 108 mm platform sits between the more versatile Canvas 100 and powder-focused 118, with five lengths from 168 to 192 cm. It makes particular sense at snowy resorts where soft conditions are common, or as a wider companion to a firm-snow ski.

Blizzard specifies a poplar-and-paulownia woodcore, fiberglass-and-carbon light sandwich construction and full ABS sidewalls. Generous tip rocker, a rockered tail and light camber underfoot balance easy redirection with an edge-contact platform through turns. That shape invites slashes and pivots instead of insisting on one carved line. It also spreads the ski’s platform across soft snow, though the width takes more effort to roll onto edge on a firm traverse than a narrower all-mountain shape.

Choose the Canvas 108 for an intermediate through expert skier who prioritizes playful soft-snow skiing over a locked-in, directional ride. POWDER’s 2027 review places it among approachable, freestyle-influenced freeride skis rather than heavy chargers. The forgiving flex helps when exploring terrain features, but brings less composure for forcing a straight line through rough, refrozen snow. Choose the 100 for more frequent groomers and tighter mixed conditions, or the 118 when flotation in deep snow is the main priority.

Construction & features

What the Canvas 108 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar + paulownia woodcore

The light woodcore keeps the wide ski mobile and lively rather than overly heavy in soft snow.

  2. 02

    Fiberglass and carbon light sandwich

Fiberglass and carbon add structural support while avoiding a heavy metal laminate.

  3. 03

Rockered tip and tail with light camber

Rockered ends improve flotation and pivoting, while light camber preserves some purchase on firmer snow.

  4. 04

    Full ABS sidewalls

Full ABS sidewalls provide a direct edge connection on firmer sections.
