Overview

The 2027 Völkl Peregrine 82 is for skiers who spend most of the day on piste but want room to adjust their turns as the surface changes. Its 82 mm waist gives it more platform than a narrow carver without moving far from a groomer-first brief. The construction carries forward with updated graphics, and this version includes the integrated LowRide system and LR 13 FR bindings.

Denser wood beside the sidewalls, shaped Titanal reinforcement and three-dimensional glass layers give the ski support when pressed onto an edge. Carbon-reinforced tips respond directly without loading the shovel with unnecessary mass. Its three sidecut zones combine a tight centre arc with longer tip and tail arcs, so it can link shorter turns or open into longer carves. Low rocker at both ends helps it release, while the low binding interface keeps the boot close to the ski for direct pressure transfer.

The Peregrine suits confident intermediates developing their carving through advanced skiers and experts who enjoy an active frontside ride. SkiEssentials’ 2027 testers often found the grip and transitions intuitive, although others emphasised that the stiff build rewards deliberate pressure and skill. It is happiest on groomers and firm, consistent snow, with enough flexibility in turn shape for changing resort conditions. A softer piste ski takes less effort at cautious speeds; a wider, more forgiving all-mountain ski offers more support and easier steering in deep snow or rough terrain.

Construction & features

What the Peregrine 82 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    3D Radius Sidecut

Longer tip and tail arcs combine with a tighter center arc so the ski can make both stable larger turns and quick, easy short turns; the displayed scalar is the center radius.

  2. 02

    Tailored Titanal Frame

Length-specific titanal pieces add edge grip, damping and torsional support while keeping the flex tuned to the ski's proportions.

  3. 03

    Tailored Carbon Tips

Precisely positioned carbon fibers stiffen the shovel along its stress lines, giving a direct tip response with less swing effort.

  4. 04

    3D.Glass

Three-dimensional glass layers above, below and vertically around the sidewalls add support, edge grip and rebound through the tip and tail.

  5. 05

    Full sidewall ABS

ABS sidewalls transfer pressure directly to the edges and protect the sandwich construction during repeated hard-snow use.

  6. 06

Integrated LowRide XL + LR 13 FR package

The actual manufacturer package includes the integrated LowRide XL rail system and Marker LowRide + LR 13 FR binding; its low stand height supports direct power transfer.
