Overview

The Salomon S/MAX 10 + M11 GW is a frontside ski package for intermediate and advanced skiers who want accessible carving with a supportive feel. Its 72 mm waist and piste-focused profile favor quick edge changes on groomed snow. The five lengths span 13–16 metre radii, moving from compact arcs to slightly longer turns as the ski grows. The package includes an M11 GW binding and Easytrak interface.

The Dual Core 2 construction combines an ash woodcore with high-transmission tri-axial fiber, then adds one Titanal insert above the core. That is a different recipe from the S/MAX 12's double-Titanal full sandwich: the S/MAX 10 aims to reduce weight and keep the flex usable while still supporting the edge on firm pistes. The Edge Amplifier SL interface concentrates pressure toward the edges and leaves the ski able to flex underfoot, so carving feels direct without demanding race-level force. Recycled ABS sidewalls and a semi-sandwich build add structure while keeping the package practical for resort use.

Choose it for daily groomer skiing when clean turn shape and quick response matter more than powder flotation. Improving skiers can develop stronger edge angles, while experienced skiers who prefer a less demanding carver can enjoy the usable flex. The single-metal build gives up some support under very aggressive pressure compared with a heavier double-metal ski. Its narrow shape also offers little lift when the snow gets deep, making a wider all-mountain design more useful for frequent off-piste days.

Construction & features

What the S/MAX 10 + M11 GW is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Dual Core 2 ash woodcore

The ash core and tri-axial fiber transmit pressure efficiently while keeping the system lighter than a full-metal piste ski.

  2. 02

    Single Titanal insert

One Titanal layer adds torsional support, damping and edge stability without the demanding feel of double metal.

  3. 03

    Edge Amplifier SL

The two-piece interface directs more skier pressure to the edge while retaining useful flex underfoot for nimble carving.

  4. 04

    Semi-Sandwich Sidewalls

Semi-sandwich construction combines edge support with a smoother, more manageable flex for resort skiers.

  5. 05

    Recycled ABS sidewalls

The 100% recycled ABS sidewalls provide structural reinforcement and consistent edge contact.

  6. 06

    M11 GW + Easytrak system

The supplied Easytrak interface and M11 GW binding form a matched piste system with a 3.5–11 DIN range.
