Overview

The 2027 Salomon QST 94 Lilac is an all-mountain ski for mixed resort days: quick on groomers, comfortable in bumps and trees, and wide enough to stay useful when snow softens. Its 94 mm waist sits between a piste ski and a deeper freeride platform, while the Lilac graphic is one of the two current QST 94 colorways. Salomon describes the ski as a bridge between all-mountain and freeride, supplied flat so the skier chooses the binding.

A full poplar core, basalt fibers in fiberglass and Cork Damplifier work together for a lively ski that filters vibration without feeling dead. The freeride-inspired tip adds float and turn entry, while the more piste-oriented tail and tail rocker shorten the effective edge and help the ski roll quickly from side to side. Full sandwich sidewalls and a titanal insert underfoot support grip on firm snow. SkiEssentials testers found it energetic and easy in bumps, trees and soft snow, with less power than metal-heavy alternatives and some chatter on hard surfaces.

Choose it for an intermediate-to-expert skier who wants a responsive daily ski with a soft-snow bias and a playful short-turn feel. It is approachable enough for progression but still rewarding when an expert takes it into glades and variable terrain. A dedicated piste ski is more precise on ice, while the QST 100 or 106 offers more float when storms are the priority.

Construction & features

What the QST 94 Lilac is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Full Poplar Woodcore

The poplar core supplies lively rebound and direct snow contact while keeping the ski manageable.

  2. 02

    Cork Damplifier

Cork in the tip and tail absorbs high-frequency vibration without adding a heavy damping layer.

  3. 03

    Basalt and fiberglass laminate

Basalt fibers embedded in fiberglass add energy and support through the center of the ski.

  4. 04

    Ti Binding Reinforcement

A titanal insert underfoot spreads pressure across the ski for stronger edging on firm snow.

  5. 05

    Full Sandwich Sidewalls

Full sandwich sidewalls transfer pressure cleanly to the steel edges for predictable grip.

  6. 06

    20% tip rocker / 16% tail rocker

Raised tips and tails help the ski release and pivot as terrain changes, while camber underfoot supplies edge contact and rebound. The 94 is shaped more directionally than the QST 100.

  7. 07

Skis only — bindings sold separately

This is a flat ski supplied without bindings; select and mount a compatible binding separately.
