Overview
Fischer’s unnumbered Ranger is an approachable all-mountain ski for progressing from groomed runs into softer snow and easier off-piste terrain. Its waist grows with length from 86 to 94 mm, so the longer sizes offer more support in soft snow.
A poplar woodcore, Fiber Tech reinforcement and sandwich sidewalls form the ski’s core construction, while Fischer’s Freeski Rocker is intended to make it easier to steer. The short 10–16.5 m radius range encourages quicker turns, and the relatively broad shape for a short ski gives it more support when the piste ends. The overall brief is an easygoing freeride crossover, rather than a narrow ski built for sustained edge pressure on hard snow.
This Ranger is best suited to beginners and developing intermediates who want one ski for learning on piste and trying their first powder turns. Its increasing width with length makes careful sizing useful: a shorter size is narrower and quicker to move, while longer options add platform and a longer radius. Fischer describes it as stable on both hard and soft snow, but its entry-level construction and freeride shape are not aimed at expert skiers seeking powerful high-speed carving or maximum grip on ice.
