Overview

The Rossignol Soul Kid-X brings freeride-inspired graphics and a manageable learning shape to smaller skiers. Its 104–140 cm range is for children building confidence across groomed slopes and modest changes in terrain. The 74–76 mm waist offers a little more platform than the narrow Hero Junior, while remaining compact enough for a child to steer. The lavender-and-turquoise artwork distinguishes this edition from the Sender Kid-X.

A Microcell core and fiberglass reinforcement supply a junior flex that is easier to bend than a demanding adult ski. Cap construction wraps the topsheet down to the edges, and the extruded base favors durability. Slight tip rocker helps turn entry, with camber and the shaped sidecut supporting basic edge control. Kid-X is the compatible binding interface; the ski-only listing leaves the binding purchase separate.

Choose it for a beginner or intermediate child progressing from basic turns toward varied resort skiing. It shares the Sender Kid-X’s published dimensions and construction, so graphics preference can guide that choice without inventing a performance difference. This is not a wide powder ski or a competition model. The shortest radius is 7 metres, rising to 14 at 140 cm; pick a length for the skier’s present size and control.

Construction & features

What the SOUL KID-X is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Microcell core

The lightweight Microcell core keeps the ski manageable under a smaller skier; this is not a wood-core adult construction.

  2. 02

    Cap construction

The topsheet wraps to the edges without vertical sidewalls, keeping handling accessible and helping resist edge chipping.

  3. 03

    Fiberglass reinforcement

Fiberglass supports the core while allowing an elastic flex that a developing skier can bend through a turn.

  4. 04

    Tip rocker and camber

A slightly raised tip eases the start of a turn, while traditional camber maintains contact and rebound on groomed snow.

  5. 05

    Kid-X interface

The Kid-X system uses a compatible junior binding interface. Confirm the actual binding package, as the ski-only listing does not include bindings.
