Overview

The Rossignol Sender Kid-X is an approachable children’s all-mountain ski for learning to steer, stop and link turns around the resort. Its freeride-inspired appearance sits over a forgiving junior construction, rather than the wood-core build of the larger Sender Pro. The 104–140 cm lengths and 74–76 mm waists give smaller skiers a manageable platform for groomers and gentle terrain exploration.

A Microcell core, fiberglass and cap construction keep handling accessible, with a junior flex designed around lighter skiers. Tip rocker helps the shovel enter a turn without demanding aggressive pressure. Camber and a shaped sidecut support edge contact as skills develop, while an extruded base emphasizes everyday durability. The Kid-X interface takes a compatible junior system binding; it is not an unrestricted flat mount.

Choose it for a beginner or intermediate child who wants easy steering and some room to explore beyond smooth pistes. It gives up the deep-snow support of a substantially wider freeride ski and the precision of a dedicated competition model. The Soul Kid-X uses the same published construction and dimensions with different artwork. Choose the length around the child’s current control and size, and check which compatible binding the package actually includes.

Construction & features

What the SENDER KID-X is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Microcell core

The lightweight Microcell core keeps the ski manageable under a smaller skier; this is not a wood-core adult construction.

  2. 02

    Cap construction

The topsheet wraps to the edges without vertical sidewalls, keeping handling accessible and helping resist edge chipping.

  3. 03

    Fiberglass reinforcement

Fiberglass supports the core while allowing an elastic flex that a developing skier can bend through a turn.

  4. 04

    Tip rocker and camber

A slightly raised tip eases the start of a turn, while traditional camber maintains contact and rebound on groomed snow.

  5. 05

    Kid-X interface

The Kid-X system uses a compatible junior binding interface. Confirm the actual binding package, as the ski-only listing does not include bindings.
