Overview
The Rossignol Soul 102 is a directional all-mountain ski for skiers who move between groomers, trees, bumps and soft snow. Its roughly 102 mm platform offers useful support in storm leftovers, while a shorter turn radius and a relatively flat tail keep forward skiing intuitive. For 2026/27 it drops ‘Sender’ from its name and gains new graphics, with the established construction carrying over. It takes a more directional approach than the twin-tip Sender range.
A poplar core, Titanal Beam and full sidewalls create a supportive middle that can hold an edge on firm snow. Tip-and-tail rocker eases pivoting and release, while the progressive sidecut changes smoothly between carving and drifting. Air Tip reduces mass at the shovel, and V-A-S works with the wood core to soften vibration. POWDER found a medium-stiff, poppy ski that feels powerful without becoming a two-by-four; the softer ends add playfulness in bumps and natural features.
Choose the Soul 102 for intermediate through expert skiers who want adaptable turns across mixed resort conditions. The tests show a useful range of personalities: SkiEssentials praises its strong construction and willingness to ski fast, while POWDER emphasizes accessible handling and a livelier, less settled ride when pushed through heavy crud or refrozen bumps. It can carve, pivot and find soft snow without demanding a charging style all day. It gives up flotation to the wider Senders and hard-snow precision to a dedicated piste ski; someone seeking maximum composure at speed should compare a more heavily damped model.
Construction & features
What the SOUL 102 ALPINE is built from, and what that means on snow.
- 01
Titanal Beam
The underfoot Titanal Beam adds edge grip, power transfer and rebound without making the whole ski rigid.
- 02
Poplar wood core
Poplar gives the ski a lively, balanced core for responsive turns and moderate damping.
- 03
Air Tip
Air Tip reduces mass at the shovel and helps the ski turn easily in trees and bumps.
- 04
Progressive Tip & Tail Rocker
Tip and tail rocker make turn entry and release easier while camber underfoot retains grip.
- 05
Progressive Sidecut
The progressive outline supports both a carved arc on firm snow and a drifted turn in soft or uneven terrain.
- 06
Rectangular Full Sidewall
Full-height sidewalls transmit pressure to the edges for precision and hold on groomers.
- 07
V-A-S
V-A-S reduces vibration and helps keep the ski connected to changing snow surfaces.
- 08
Open flat ski
The Alpine Open version is sold without bindings; binding choice and mounting are separate.
