Ability
The Rossignol Sender 100 is an all-mountain twin for skiers who want a freeride shape without giving up groomers, natural jumps or park laps. Its 100 mm waist sits between a narrow resort ski and a powder specialist, and the full twin-tip outline encourages a centered, creative approach. The 2026/27 Sender 100 Open brings that versatile platform into Rossignol's renamed Sender line with a fresh graphic.
The ski's character comes from the contrast between a lively poplar core and a substantial, stiff underfoot build. Camber supplies edge contact for carving, while twin rocker and a progressive sidecut let the ski release into a smear, press or quick direction change. Air Tip reduces weight at the ends, and rectangular full sidewalls transmit pressure cleanly to the edges. There is no metal laminate in the construction: POWDER found that the thick wood core provides impressive grip and damping, then returns strong rebound and pop.
Choose it as a daily resort ski for intermediate through expert skiers who mix carving, bumps, trees, crud and freestyle terrain. SkiEssentials testers found it forgiving, nimble and unusually versatile, with enough stability for big turns; POWDER describes hardpack grip, energetic rebound and confident landings, while noting that the tips can deflect when pushed at very high speed. It is wider and slower edge-to-edge than a piste ski, and less floaty than a 110 mm freeride ski. A stronger skier may want a more damp charger, while a park specialist may prefer a narrower, more symmetrical model.
What the SENDER 100 OPEN is built from, and what that means on snow.
The poplar core balances elasticity, damping and weight, giving the ski its pop without a metal laminate.
Air Tip removes mass from the extremities and concentrates it underfoot, aiding quick steering and reducing swing weight.
Rocker at the tip and tail eases turn initiation and release, while camber underfoot keeps an edge on groomers and supports rebound.
The progressive outline blends edge hold with smooth drifting and smearing, so the ski can carve a groomer and then pivot through bumps or soft snow.
Continuous vertical sidewalls deliver pressure to the edges for grip and precision on firm snow.
The Vibration Absorption System reduces vibration and helps the base stay in contact with uneven snow.
A sintered HD base is designed for durable glide across changing resort conditions and benefits from regular waxing.
The Open version is supplied flat without bindings; choose and mount bindings separately.
