Overview

The Rossignol Scratch Pro Xpress is a junior freestyle ski for progressing from ordinary resort turns toward jumps, switch skiing and playful lines. Its twin-tip shape and 80 mm waist keep the platform relatively compact, favoring agility over deep-snow flotation. The 138–178 cm range covers growing freeskiers, with a sidecut radius that becomes considerably more open in the longer lengths.

A poplar wood core and fiberglass provide elastic support, while cap construction wraps the topsheet to the edges for a practical, durable build. The upturned tail opens the door to skiing and landing in both directions. Rossignol describes traditional camber and an extended sidecut for rebound and grip, alongside rockered ends in its technology list. These elements combine edge support with easier turn release; the Xpress interface requires a compatible system binding.

Choose it for an intermediate or advanced junior whose resort skiing includes freestyle progression. Its narrower platform makes more sense for park laps and everyday mixed snow than a wide powder ski. It is also a different choice from a hard-snow race ski: versatility and a forgiving freestyle build take priority over maximum carving precision. Check the selected length and binding package, rather than assuming every size has the same turning character.

Construction & features

What the SCRATCH PRO XPRESS is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar wood core

Poplar balances elastic flex with support and vibration absorption, giving a lively platform for mixed resort terrain.

  2. 02

    Cap construction

The topsheet wraps to the edges without vertical sidewalls, keeping handling accessible and helping resist edge chipping.

  3. 03

    Fiberglass reinforcement

Fiberglass supports the core while allowing an elastic flex that a developing skier can bend through a turn.

  4. 04

    Twin-tip shape

An upturned tail supports skiing and landing in both directions, allowing freestyle skills to develop beyond forward-only turns.

  5. 05

    Xpress interface

The Xpress interface takes a compatible system binding. The mounting arrangement is distinct from a flat ski; binding inclusion depends on the selected package.
