Unleashed 106

The 2027 Nordica Unleashed 106 is a redesigned freeride ski that replaces the previous 108, with a longer, lower rocker profile and a more directional balance. Its 106 mm waist suits soft-snow resort days without giving away the ability to link purposeful turns on groomers. Six lengths run from 157 to 190 cm. It offers a middle ground for skiers who want to slash and explore off-piste terrain but still value a supportive edge.

A poplar wood core and carbon stringers provide energy, while Drift Lock technology places a central metal strip through the cambered part of the ski. SkiEssentials describes the strip ending before the rockered sections, helping the ski engage when tipped onto edge while leaving the ends easier to release. The Freeride Flow shape combines longer rocker with camber underfoot. It creates a distinct choice between drifting through a turn and loading the edge, rather than making every turn feel loose.

Choose the Unleashed 106 for an advanced or expert skier who wants a versatile freeride platform with strong carving ability for its width. Exact 2027 testers appreciated its grip and quick engagement, although some wanted more freestyle looseness. It makes more sense for soft snow and mixed off-piste lines than mostly icy pistes. The 98 changes edges more readily on firm runs, while the wider Unleashed models provide more flotation on deep days. Bindings are selected separately.
