Overview
The 2027 HEAD Power Joy is a narrow, high-performance women's piste ski for skiers who spend their day making controlled turns on groomed snow. At 70 mm underfoot, it moves quickly from edge to edge and favors a carved turn over a loose, surfy feel. HEAD's product page presents it with the Protector EVO PR 13 GW binding on the Better Balance PR base; the ski can also be configured with another listed binding.
HEAD pairs a lightweight wood core with its Worldcup Sandwich Cap construction, LYT Tech, Graphene and EMC. HEAD says EMC filters vibration through the turn, while the sandwich build and Speedrocker shape are intended to make the ski stable and responsive on piste. Its structured RD Race UHM C base is designed for efficient glide.
This is a choice for advanced and expert women who prefer groomers and are ready to ski with deliberate edge pressure. The selector's radii run from 13.1 m at 153 cm to 17.3 m at 173 cm, so length changes the turn shape substantially. Its narrow waist and piste-focused shape offer little float for deep snow and less versatility in chopped off-piste terrain than a wider all-mountain ski. Choose it for hard-snow carving, not as a single pair for every condition.
Construction & features
What the Power Joy is built from, and what that means on snow.
- 01
Worldcup Sandwich Cap construction
A layered sandwich construction supports the edges under load, while a cap wraps over the ski to protect its upper edges.
- 02
EMC vibration filtering
HEAD describes EMC as filtering negative vibrations through the turn. The practical aim is a smoother feel as the ski runs over hard or uneven groomed snow.
- 03
Lightweight wood core and LYT Tech
A lightweight wood core and HEAD’s LYT Tech construction aim to keep the ski manageable while retaining a solid platform for carving.
- 04
Speedrocker profile
Speedrocker has a small amount of tip rise and camber underfoot. That profile eases turn entry while keeping most of the ski's contact on firm snow for grip and precise edge changes.
- 05
Structured RD Race base
The RD Race structured UHM C base is HEAD's high-speed base specification. Its structure is intended to help the ski glide efficiently on groomed snow.
- 06
Better Balance PR base with Protector EVO PR 13 GW
The Better Balance PR base pairs with a Protector EVO PR 13 GW binding in this configuration.
