Overview
The Fischer Nightstick 104 is a wide freestyle twin for skiers who want park influence in a soft-snow freeride ski. Its 103–105 mm waists and rockered twin tips provide more flotation than the Nightstick 97, while its long 18–20 m radii favor open turns over tight trees. The 2027 model carries over its established shape and construction.
A thick poplar wood core and sandwich sidewalls provide a substantial platform. A Titanal insert at the binding area helps protect the edges from deformation on rails, according to Fischer. Rocker and taper help the ski pivot in softer snow. SkiEssentials testers found it calm in chopped snow and supportive on landings, but not focused on carving; its long radius asks for space, and its heft can overwhelm intermediates.
Choose the Nightstick 104 for powder days, trees with room to turn, side hits and freestyle lines beyond the park. It can handle groomers between soft-snow laps, but a narrower all-mountain ski will change edges faster and a directional freeride ski may suit skiers who rarely ride switch. Its weight and wide twin-tip shape favor confident advanced skiers and experts; skiers looking for a quick, light park ski should look elsewhere.
Construction & features
What the Nightstick 104 is built from, and what that means on snow.
- 01
Thick poplar woodcore and sandwich sidewalls
A full poplar core provides flex through the ski, while full sidewalls support the edges under pressure. SkiEssentials notes that the thicker core profile contributes to the ski's more substantial, supportive feel.
- 02
Titanal edge reinforcement
A Titanal insert at the binding area helps prevent edge deformation when landing on rails, according to Fischer.
- 03
Twin-tip shape with Freeski Rocker
Raised, tapered ends help the ski release and pivot in soft snow and make switch skiing possible. Camber underfoot gives it a platform to push against for turns and landings.
- 04
Flat ski — bindings sold separately
This is the ski-only configuration. Bindings are sold separately and are not included in the listed ski weight.
