Overview

The 2027 Extrem Project 91 is a frontside-focused all-mountain ski for skiers who want a strong carving platform that can stay out through spring slush, bumps and wind-affected snow. Its 91 mm waist is wider than a dedicated piste ski, giving it some room to move beyond groomed runs, while the full-width Titanal construction signals a preference for edge hold and speed over a light, playful feel. The three lengths—170, 177 and 185 cm—span tighter to longer turns, with the largest radius in the longest size.

A poplar and beech core, prepreg fiberglass and full-width Titanal create a damp, supportive platform. The metal laminate improves torsional support and edge hold on firm snow, while Extrem pairs it with rocker and sidecut intended to make the ski easier to engage at low speeds than a pure race carver. Tip and tail rubber inserts reduce vibration over rough patches. In Freeride.se’s 2027 test, skiers described it as stable yet easy to turn and playful in resort terrain, though one pointed to deep powder as a limit.

Choose the Project 91 if groomers are your home terrain but your days also include bumps, soft spring snow and occasional off-piste detours. It suits advanced skiers who want a powerful, damp feel and can bend a metal ski; lighter or less aggressive skiers may find it more demanding than a softer all-mountain model. At 91 mm it will not provide the flotation of a freeride ski in deep powder, and its metal build is not intended for long uphill tours. The no-binding option lets you select a compatible alpine binding separately.

Construction & features

What the Project 91 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Full-width Titanal

A full-width Titanal laminate improves torsional rigidity and edge hold across the ski, helping it remain composed when driven on hard snow.

  2. 02

    Poplar and beech core

Poplar and beech form the wood core; the manufacturer describes the complete construction as damp and powerful.

  3. 03

    Tip and tail rocker

Rocker and sidecut balance turn initiation with a supportive, directional feel for frontside skiing and variable resort snow.

  4. 04

    Rubber damping

Rubber inserts at the tip and tail are intended to reduce vibration over firm, broken snow.

  5. 05

    Sintered race base

The sintered race base is designed for glide across changing snow temperatures; regular waxing still matters.

  6. 06

    Flat ski; bindings sold separately

The official product page offers a no-binding configuration; choose bindings separately.
