Overview

The 2027 Extrem Project 83 is a powerful frontside carver for skiers who want strong grip on hard groomers but also need to get through the bumps and chopped snow that appear later in the day. Its 83 mm waist is wider than a dedicated race carver, while the 13–16 m radii make it eager to change direction. Four lengths from 162 to 183 cm provide a broad range of turn feel and stability.

A poplar and beech core sits between two full-width Titanal layers. The metal dampens vibration and supports edge hold at speed; a short-radius sidecut adds quickness, and light tip and tail rocker helps the ski release when the piste gets rough. The result is a firm, demanding ski with more composure than a light recreational carver. The tradeoff is that it takes deliberate input and rewards a skier who can pressure the edge rather than simply cruising upright.

Choose the Project 83 if you spend most of your time on groomed snow, ski with confident technique, and want a strong platform for carving from morning corduroy into afternoon chop. The 162 or 169 cm will feel quicker; the 176 or 183 cm offers more stability and longer arcs. Its metal construction and narrow waist are less suitable for casual, low-effort skiing or deep powder, where a softer or wider ski would be easier. Bindings are sold separately in the flat configuration.

Construction & features

What the Project 83 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Twin full-width Titanal layers

Two full-width Titanal layers add damping, edge grip and stability when skiing quickly on hard snow.

  2. 02

    Poplar and beech wood core

Stable beech and springy poplar combine to give the ski a supportive, lively flex.

  3. 03

    Short-radius sidecut and light rocker

The 13–16 m radii encourage shorter carved turns; light rocker at the ends helps the ski release and maneuver through chopped snow.

  4. 04

    Race base and custom structure

The sintered race base and arrow-shaped base structure are designed to provide glide across changing snow conditions.

  5. 05

    Flat ski; bindings sold separately

The official product page offers a no-binding configuration; bindings are selected separately.
