Overview

The 2027 Extrem Factory 112 is a wide, directional freeride ski for deep snow and big terrain. At 111–112 mm underfoot across its two offered lengths, it has enough platform for soft snow while retaining a defined shape for making turns when conditions firm up. The 185 cm version is the shorter option; the 193 cm adds length and a longer 22 m radius for open slopes and larger arcs.

A poplar core is reinforced by a narrow Titanal strip underfoot, with race rubber damping and rocker at the ends. The metal reinforcement adds support and edge hold around the binding zone without making this a full-width metal ski. The wide shovel and rocker help it plane in powder and pivot when the terrain tightens, while the long effective platform and substantial weight favor a composed, driven approach over quick, low-effort turns. A sintered base is designed to retain wax and glide well when maintained.

Choose the Factory 112 if you ski fast in soft snow, value support on steep or open faces, and have the strength and technique to manage a substantial freeride ski. The 185 cm suits skiers prioritizing maneuverability; the 193 cm is better for taller or more aggressive skiers who want extra stability. Its width and weight are compromises on firm groomers and for long climbs, so it is less suitable as a daily frontside ski or a lightweight touring setup. Extrem offers it flat, with bindings sold separately.

Construction & features

What the Factory 112 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    112 mm freeride platform

The broad waist and rockered ends provide flotation and maneuverability in soft snow, with a shape that remains usable when the snow firms up.

  2. 02

    Titanal reinforcement underfoot

A narrow Titanal strip underfoot adds support and edge hold through the binding area without using a full-width metal laminate.

  3. 03

    Poplar core and damping

Poplar forms the wood core; race rubber damping is intended to reduce vibration for a calmer ride.

  4. 04

    Tip and tail rocker

Rocker at both ends helps the ski release and pivot in deeper snow and variable terrain.

  5. 05

    Flat ski; bindings sold separately

The official product page offers a no-binding configuration; bindings are selected separately.
