Overview

The 2027 Black Crows Camox is a 97 mm all-mountain twin for skiers who want one resort ski for groomers, bumps, trees and soft snow. The official 2026/27 workbook marks it as a carryover from the fourth-generation redesign, so the shape is not new this season. Double rocker and a freestyle-derived outline make it easy to pivot, while the recommended mount point keeps it directional for everyday resort skiing.

A poplar core and fiberglass form the main build, with an ash pocket underfoot adding support beneath the binding. Medium camber keeps edge contact through the middle of a turn; rocker at both ends helps the ski release and change direction without catching. Black Crows describes the flex as more homogeneous and the pivot as more responsive. In the 2027 SkiEssentials test, reviewers found it composed at speed and capable on firmer snow for a metal-free twin tip, though its weight and less explosive rebound temper the playful feel.

Choose the Camox if you like a stable, directional ride but want a tail that can smear, pivot and handle occasional switch skiing. Its 97 mm waist gives useful support in soft resort snow, though it will not float like a wider freeride ski in deep conditions. Skiers who mainly make short, low-speed turns or want a light, loose park ski may find it demanding and less poppy than expected; stronger intermediates through experts will get more from its planted middle and predictable flex.

Construction & features

What the Camox is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar core with ash pocket

Poplar forms the main wood core, while a denser ash pocket beneath the binding reinforces the central zone for a more supported feel underfoot.

  2. 02

    Double rocker and medium camber

Rocker at the tip and tail helps the ski release and pivot; camber underfoot maintains a positive edge platform for grip on firmer snow.

  3. 03

    Semi-cap construction with ABS sidewalls

The semi-cap build transitions to ABS sidewalls around the ski. The sidewalls support edge-to-snow force transfer while the lighter cap-style construction at the extremities limits excess material.

  4. 04

    Flat ski, bindings sold separately

This is the ski-only configuration shown in the workbook. Bindings are not included and must be selected separately.
