Overview
The 2027 Salomon QST 100 Cosmic Sky is a playful all-mountain ski for mixed resort days, soft snow and quick detours into trees or natural terrain. Its 100 mm waist gives it meaningful float without becoming cumbersome on groomers, and the Cosmic Sky artwork offers a color choice alongside Black on the same verified QST 100 construction. Salomon describes it as the most playful QST, with a flat ski package that leaves binding choice to the skier.
A full poplar core gives the ski a lively, manageable feel, while basalt fibers in fiberglass add energy through the center. Cork Damplifier in the tips and tails filters vibration, and the sandwich sidewalls plus titanal reinforcement underfoot support edge contact when snow firms up. Rocker-camber-rocker, a longer tail rocker and a progressive mount point help the QST 100 pivot and release turns quickly. The 2027 SkiEssentials test found the platform quick, floaty and versatile, while also noting less locked-in edge stability than a more directional ski.
Choose it for an intermediate through expert skier who wants a soft-snow biased daily ski with an easy, creative turn shape. It is especially useful for trees, bumps and variable resort snow, but a narrower piste ski is more precise on ice and the QST 106 is more supportive in deep or rough snow. The Cosmic Sky is a lively one-ski option for skiers who value maneuverability over maximum charging stability.
