Overview

The women’s Rossignol Arcade 78 Xpress puts straightforward piste skiing first. Its 78 mm waist is the narrowest in the Arcade range, favoring quick edge changes and easy steering on prepared snow rather than flotation away from the runs. The women’s version combines its own blue-and-cream graphic with 132–164 cm lengths and an Xpress system interface, offering shorter options for developing or relaxed resort skiers.

The workbook lists a poplar wood core, LCT, VAS, fiberglass, cap sidewalls and an extended sidecut. That combination should keep the ski light and forgiving while offering enough camber and edge contact for predictable carving. The five length rows use a consistent 129/78/117 outline, with radii from 8 to 12 metres. This is a piste tool first: its narrow waist changes edges quickly but offers little support in deep snow or heavy crud.

Choose the Arcade 78 for a developing skier or relaxed resort skier who values manageable turn entry and a simple binding package. The cap build and fiberglass reinforcement make a different proposition from a stiff ski with a broad metal laminate: the emphasis is on usable flex and accessibility. An advanced piste skier who prefers agility to outright power can also find value here, but frequent deep snow and fast runs through chopped powder call for more width and support. The Arcade 80 stays close to this easygoing brief; the wider, more strongly reinforced Arcades offer a more assertive response.

Construction & features

What the WOMEN'S ARCADE 78 XPRESS is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar wood core

The poplar core keeps this narrow ski light and approachable for everyday piste skiing.

  2. 02

    LCT stabilizing strip

LCT steadies the center of the ski and helps preserve a smooth pressure platform through short turns.

  3. 03

    VAS damping

VAS damping calms the tip over firm piste irregularities and reduces distracting chatter.

  4. 04

    Rocker / Camber / Rocker

Camber supports edge contact while rocker makes the ski easier to engage in bumps and variable groomers.

  5. 05

    Extended sidecut

Extended sidecut gives the ski a predictable carving arc across its six offered lengths.

  6. 06

    Cap sidewall

Cap sidewalls keep the ski forgiving and easy to roll from edge to edge.

  7. 07

    Xpress system interface

The integrated system interface provides a resort binding setup rather than a separately drilled flat ski. The selected retail package determines the binding supplied.
