Overview

The Rossignol Soul W 102 is a women’s all-mountain ski for groomers, trees, bumps and soft snow. A roughly 102 mm platform in the longer sizes provides support in storm leftovers, while rockered ends make it easier to pivot between turns. For 2026/27 the construction, shape and profile carry over with new graphics and a shorter name. It suits someone who wants directional resort performance with room to explore beyond the piste.

A poplar wood core and Titanal Beam put support underfoot, while full sidewalls transfer pressure into the edges on firm pistes. Air Tip trims swing weight at the shovel; V-A-S is intended to reduce vibration there. Tip-and-tail rocker helps the ski pivot and release, and the progressive sidecut can move from carved arcs to drifted turns. SkiEssentials testers found it easy to turn and capable on ice, crud and soft snow, though its stiffer, substantial build rewards an active skier more than a cautious beginner.

Choose it for an intermediate-to-expert skier who wants a quick, playful daily ski with useful off-piste reach. SkiEssentials particularly recommends it for advanced and expert women, while noting that progressing intermediates can access its performance in an appropriate length. It bridges narrow piste skis and wider powder tools on mixed resort days. The compromise is slower edge changes on hardpack than a dedicated carving model, less flotation than a wider powder ski, and a directional tail that is less suited to switch skiing than a freestyle twin. A skier seeking an especially soft, easygoing ride should compare less substantial alternatives.

    Poplar wood core

Poplar supplies a balanced wood platform for lively turn response and moderate damping.

  3. 03

    Air Tip

Air Tip reduces mass toward the shovel, making the ski easier to steer in trees and bumps.

  4. 04

    Progressive Tip & Tail Rocker

Rocker at both ends eases entry and release while camber underfoot retains grip.

  5. 05

    Progressive Sidecut

The changing outline supports both clean arcs on firm snow and controlled drifting in soft or uneven terrain.

  6. 06

    Rectangular Full Sidewall

Full sidewalls transmit pressure directly to the edges for firmer-snow precision.

  7. 07

    V-A-S

V-A-S is placed to absorb vibration in the shovel and smooth changing snow.

  8. 08

    Open flat ski

The Open ski is sold without bindings, leaving the binding and mount choice to the buyer.
