Overview

The Rossignol Nova 6 is a women-specific piste ski for intermediate skiers ready to make more deliberate carved turns. Its 75 mm waist, quick sidecut and Xpress system package keep the ski light and easy to roll edge to edge on groomed snow. The 2027 model is positioned as a progression ski rather than a race tool, with enough shape to make ordinary resort laps feel purposeful.

Rossignol describes a carbon-reinforced wood core that keeps the ski light while supporting a smooth, controlled carve. V-Profile balances flex and pop, while the rectangular full sidewall sends pressure into the edge and the slight tip rocker makes initiation easier. The deep sidecut and 9–12 m radii favor short and medium arcs; the construction should feel lively and connected without demanding the hard-driving stance of a Ti carver.

Choose it for an intermediate skier who wants to improve parallel turns and edge confidence on firm or freshly groomed pistes. The ski remains manageable when technique is developing, but the narrow platform and piste shape offer little float in deep snow. Strong advanced skiers may want the Titanal-reinforced Nova 10 for greater stability and rebound, while beginners who are still learning to link turns may find the Nova 2's softer learning curve more suitable.

Construction & features

What the NOVA 6 XPRESS is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Carbon-reinforced wood core

The carbon-reinforced wood core keeps weight manageable while adding support for a controlled carve.

  2. 02

    V-Profile

V-Profile shapes the flex for connected grip with energetic pop when pressure is released.

  3. 03

    Rectangular Full Sidewall

Full-length sidewalls transfer pressure directly to the edge for predictable hard-snow bite.

  4. 04

    Tip rocker

Slight rocker at the tip reduces the effort needed to start a turn while camber retains piste grip.

  5. 05

    Oversized sidecut

The deep sidecut encourages short and medium arcs and quick edge changes.

  6. 06

    Xpress system

The Xpress interface pairs the ski with a lightweight integrated binding setup.
