Overview

The 2027 HEAD Kore 99 Ti W is a women's all-mountain ski for confident skiers who divide their time between groomed runs and softer snow. Its 99 mm waist gives more support off piste than a frontside carver, while the tapered tip and tail and tip-and-tail rocker keep it from feeling like a full-width powder ski. It is sold flat, leaving the binding choice to the skier.

A poplar and recycled PET hybrid core sits in HEAD's Freeride Sandwich Cap construction, with two 0.4 mm Titanal layers, Graphene and a flax-reinforced protective top surface. The metal layers bring a more damp, edge-driven feel than a light carbon ski; rocker at both ends helps the ski release and pivot, while camber underfoot keeps a firm platform for carving. The 170 cm size has a 15.6 m radius, but the 2027 test found mixed turn behavior: some testers liked its lively response, while others found it reluctant to smear or tighten a turn.

Choose it if you are an advanced or expert skier who wants a sturdy 50/50 resort ski and enjoys driving the edge on firm snow as well as carrying speed through soft or broken conditions. Its width gives useful flotation, but the metal build and directional shape ask for deliberate input; it is less suited to a relaxed, light-feeling ride, tight bumps or skidding quick turns. A lighter, narrower ski is easier for frequent short turns, while a wider freeride ski gives more support in deep snow.

Construction & features

What the Kore 99 Ti W is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Poplar and recycled PET core

HEAD's women's PET-Wood Core pairs poplar with recycled PET stringers. The hybrid core supplies the ski's wood structure while using a lighter, softer women's-specific layup than the men's KORE TI cores.

  2. 02

    Two Titanal layers

Two 0.4 mm Titanal sheets reinforce the core. The metal adds torsional support and damping, helping the ski hold its edge and stay composed when driven on hard or rough snow.

  3. 03

    Flax-reinforced Hybrid Top Surface

HEAD describes a flax-based damping layer and a durable protective top laminate around the ski. The raised perimeter cover helps protect the top surface and edges from knocks and chipping.

  4. 04

    Tip-and-tail rocker

Rocker at both ends brings the contact points up earlier than a fully cambered ski, making the ends easier to release and helping the ski move through soft snow; camber remains underfoot for grip.

  5. 05

    Freeride Sandwich Cap

The layered sandwich construction supports the edges under load, while a protective cap wraps over the top of the ski.

  6. 06

    Flat ski without bindings

The ski is sold without bindings, allowing you to choose a compatible binding separately.
