Ranger 90

The 2027 Fischer Ranger 90 is a 90 mm all-mountain ski for skiers who spend most of the day on piste but want a manageable platform for bumps, trees and softer snow. Its established construction carries over for this season.

A poplar core, sandwich sidewalls and Fischer’s Shaped Ti 0.5 laminate give it a more composed edge and rebound than a light, soft ski. The laminate reaches farther toward the tips and tails than on wider Rangers, supporting its groomer bias; a Flex Cut through the middle lets the ski bend more freely, while Freeski Rocker helps it release and pivot. SkiEssentials testers found it reasonably strong on groomers and useful off trail, but also noted that turn initiation can feel less predictable and it is not the cleanest carver or most intuitive tree ski.

Choose the Ranger 90 as a daily resort ski if you like to link carved turns and still duck into mixed terrain without changing skis. Its modest width is quicker edge to edge than a wider freeride ski, though it gives up deep-snow float. It rewards an intermediate skier ready to explore the whole mountain and remains useful for stronger skiers who value versatility over a specialist’s grip or power. Testers also describe it as stout but not punishing; a dedicated piste ski will hold a more committed line on firm snow.
