Overview

The 2027 Extrem Project 83 Eco is a frontside ski for groomers and the variable snow that accumulates as the day goes on. Its 83 mm waist and short 13–16 m radii favor quick carved turns, while light rocker at the tip and tail helps it stay manageable in chopped snow. It shares the standard Project 83’s sidecut and size geometry, but is built for a more forgiving ride.

A beech and poplar core balances support with a more agile feel, and the ski uses recycled content in several components. Extrem lists 70% recycled ABS, 50% recycled base material and topsheet material, and 20% recycled steel edges. The product page also specifies a thicker steel edge and base, intended to tolerate wear and extend service life. The short radius makes it easy to bring around, but it is not designed as a long-radius high-speed charger.

Choose the Eco if you mainly ski pistes and want an approachable carver for fresh corduroy, afternoon chop and spring snow, with a documented focus on recycled materials and durability. It suits intermediate and advanced skiers who enjoy turning frequently; experts seeking maximum damping and top-end stability may prefer the full-metal Project 83. It is still a frontside ski, so its narrow waist is a limitation in deep powder. The 162 cm is the most nimble, while the 183 cm gives a longer platform. Extrem sells it without bindings.

Construction & features

What the Project 83 Eco is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Recycled materials

Extrem specifies recycled ABS, base, topsheet and steel-edge content, reducing the share of virgin material while retaining a conventional ski construction.

  2. 02

    Beech and poplar core

The mixed wood core balances support and agility for a composed but relatively easy-turning piste ski.

  3. 03

    Short-radius sidecut and light rocker

A 13–16 m radius encourages shorter carved turns; light rocker at both ends makes it easier to release and manage in tracked snow.

  4. 04

    Extra-thick edge and base

The manufacturer says thicker steel edges and base improve impact resistance and longevity, helping the ski withstand repeated use.

  5. 05

    Flat ski; bindings sold separately

The official product page offers a no-binding configuration; bindings are selected separately.
