Overview

The Blizzard Zero G 96 W is a women’s touring ski for efficient climbs and varied backcountry descents. Its four lengths run from 157 to 178 cm, all with a 96 mm waist, and the 17–20 metre radii offer a more compact turn shape than the longest Zero G 105 sizes. The moderate width leaves useful surface area for fresh snow without carrying a dedicated powder platform.

W.S.D. Trueblend Tour blends light paulownia with stronger poplar to balance low mass with a supportive feel. An ash insert reinforces the binding zone and adds local torsional support. Early-rise tips and tails help the ski release, while camber and partial ABS sidewalls retain edge contact on firmer sections. The five-radius sidecut combines a straighter middle with different arcs toward the ends to balance tracking and turn entry. Its low pair weights emphasize climbing efficiency over the suspension of a substantial resort ski.

Choose it for an intermediate or advanced woman building a dedicated touring setup around long approaches and mixed downhill conditions. The 96 mm waist offers a middle ground between a narrow firm-snow touring ski and a wider powder-oriented model. It will need more attention in rough, tracked snow than a heavier alpine ski, and has less lift in deeper snow than the Zero G 105. Blizzard recommends Pintech touring bindings, which are selected separately.

Construction & features

What the Zero G 96 W is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    W.S.D. Trueblend Tour

Light paulownia and stronger poplar stringers combine low mass for climbing with a supportive, progressively tuned flex for the descent.

  2. 02

    Ash core insert

An ash insert reinforces the binding zone, helping the lightweight core handle concentrated mounting and skiing loads.

  3. 03

    Early-rise tip and tail

Early rise makes turn release and soft-snow movement easier without requiring the skier to muscle the ski flat.

  4. 04

    Camber underfoot

Camber underfoot adds edge contact and traction on firm traverses, icy steps and technical hard snow.

  5. 05

    Partial ABS sidewalls

Partial ABS sidewalls provide direct pressure transfer to the edge with less mass than a full alpine sidewall build.

  6. 06

    Five-radius sidecut

Different radii along the edge combine a straighter middle for tracking with shaped ends that help the ski enter and release turns.

  7. 07

    Skis only

Bindings are sold separately; the manufacturer recommends a Pintech touring setup.
