Overview

The Blizzard Zero G 88 W is a women’s touring ski that emphasizes efficient climbs and manageable steering on firmer backcountry routes. Its 88 mm waist changes edges more readily than a wide powder ski, and the four lengths from 150 to 171 cm extend the range toward shorter skiers. Early-rise tips and tails leave room to release a turn when the snow becomes uneven.

W.S.D. Trueblend Tour combines light paulownia with stronger poplar, while an ash insert adds support around the binding zone. The zoned core aims to retain a supportive middle with easier-flexing ends. Camber and partial ABS sidewalls provide useful contact on firm snow without the mass of a full alpine build. The relatively narrow shape reduces the surface area carried uphill and makes the ski easier to redirect, at the cost of lift in deeper snow.

Choose it for an intermediate or advanced woman prioritizing low climbing weight and controlled direction changes over powder performance. It is a dedicated touring choice for mixed snow and regular firm sections, rather than a substitute for a heavier resort ski. Its light construction provides less suspension when snow is rough or heavily tracked. The Zero G 96 W leaves more room for softer descents, while the 105 makes sense when deep snow and open lines dominate the plan. Pintech touring bindings are selected separately.

Construction & features

What the Zero G 88 W is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    W.S.D. Trueblend Tour

The women-specific touring woodcore balances low climbing mass with softer, more manageable flex for controlled turn initiation.

  2. 02

    Ash wood insert

Placed underfoot, ash adds torsional rigidity and power transfer around the binding without the sharper feel of a carbon reinforcement.

  3. 03

    Early-rise tip and tail

Early rise reduces hook-up in soft or uneven snow, helping the ski pivot and release during technical turns.

  4. 04

    Camber underfoot

Camber keeps more edge in contact on firm traverses, icy steps and hardpack descents.

  5. 05

    Partial ABS sidewalls

Partial ABS transfers pressure to the edge while saving material and weight versus a full alpine sidewall.

  6. 06

    Skis only

Bindings are selected separately; Blizzard recommends a Pintech touring setup.
