Thunderbird 76 LTD + Comp 12 Demo

The 2027 Blizzard Thunderbird 76 LTD + Comp 12 Demo is a precise frontside package for groomed snow, quick edge changes and longer carved turns. Its 76 mm waist and 13–17 m radii favor a clean edge-to-edge rhythm, while the Comp 12 Demo binding keeps the setup adaptable across boots. Blizzard offers 158, 166, 174 and 182 cm. This is a piste ski with race-inspired support, not a wide all-mountain platform.

The construction combines two titanal layers, carbon, a Trueblend Piste woodcore and Blizzard’s Active Armor in a glass sandwich with full ABS sidewalls. Titanal and carbon add torsional resistance and damping when the edge is loaded, while the shaped core controls how the ski flexes into the turn. A 2 mm early-rise tip reduces hook-up when the piste is rough, and the narrow waist gives fast edge response. Full sidewalls transfer pressure directly into the edge; the result should feel calmer and more powerful than a soft recreational carver.

Choose the Thunderbird 76 LTD for an advanced or expert skier who spends most days on firm groomers and enjoys committed carving. SkiEssentials’ 2027 testers highlighted strong grip and stability: some found it demanding and reluctant to leave its preferred arc, while others enjoyed its quick response. It rewards accurate pressure and speed, with less versatility for loose steering or tight bumps. The Comp12 Demo binding and FDT Race Plate Pro B are included. Choose a broader all-mountain ski for regular soft snow or a gentler piste model for relaxed cruising.
