Overview

The 2027 Blizzard Anomaly 84 is the narrow, quick edge of Blizzard’s Anomaly all mountain family. Its 84 mm waist favors groomers, hardpack and bumps, while early rise at both ends keeps it useful when the day moves into trees or broken snow. SkiEssentials describes the 2027 version as a new graphic on an otherwise unchanged platform, retaining its firm-snow bias.

The Trueblend All Mountain woodcore tunes support along the ski, while 2Ti FluxForm All Mountain adds titanal reinforcement around the core. A full ABS sidewall transfers edge force cleanly, and 6 mm camber underfoot gives a positive platform without making the rockered tips and tails hooky. That combination explains the quick edge changes and strong rebound: it can carve a clean arc, then shorten the turn in a mogul or narrow glade.

Choose it for an advanced or expert skier who values grip, speed and a precise, substantial feel more than easygoing looseness. The narrow platform is efficient on icy groomers and remains useful in bumps, but 84 mm cannot provide the float of a wider Anomaly when snow gets deep. Testers found it capable and engaging while also demanding balance and deliberate input. Skiers wanting a forgiving learning ski should look elsewhere.

Construction & features

What the Anomaly 84 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Trueblend All Mountain woodcore

Beech and poplar stringers of different densities and lengths create a supportive middle and easier-flexing ends for turn initiation and release.

  2. 02

    2Ti FluxForm All Mountain

Two titanal reinforcements settle the ski under load, adding edge security and damping without turning the narrow platform into a race ski.

  3. 03

    Rocker/camber/rocker shape

Early rise at tip and tail with 6 mm camber underfoot blends pivoting in variable snow with a positive carving platform.

  4. 04

    Full ABS sidewall

A full ABS sidewall transmits boot pressure directly to the edge, helping the ski hold a clean line on firm snow.

  5. 05

    84 mm waist

The narrow waist moves quickly between edges and favors groomers, packed bumps and firm all mountain laps over deep powder.

  6. 06

    Flat ski

Bindings are selected separately; the manufacturer provides a suggested binding rather than an included system.
