Overview

The 2027 Blizzard Anomaly 102 is the widest and most soft snow focused Anomaly, but its 102 mm platform is still shaped for a full resort day. Early rise at tip and tail helps it plane and pivot in powder, while the directional outline stays composed when the run firms up. SkiEssentials says the 2027 ski returns structurally unchanged with a new purple graphic, retaining the same directional, substantial feel.

Blizzard pairs a Trueblend Free woodcore with 2Ti FluxForm All Mountain. Beech and poplar provide support, with paulownia contributing lower mass, while the titanal reinforcements settle the center when speed and rough snow build. Full ABS sidewalls keep pressure connected to the edges, and 6 mm camber underfoot retains support between the rockered ends. It can smear in soft snow yet drive a long turn on a groomer.

Choose it for an advanced or expert skier who wants one strong directional ski for storm days, tracked snow and fast resort laps. Testers found it happiest in open terrain and at speed, with enough groomer competence to make the return route enjoyable. It is a poor choice for quick short turns on hardpack, and 102 mm asks more effort from smaller skiers than an 84 or 88. Its substantial build favors deliberate turn shaping over rapid, reactive corrections.

Construction & features

What the Anomaly 102 is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Trueblend Free woodcore

Beech and poplar provide support, with paulownia helping reduce mass. Zoned stringers tune flex along the length of this wide directional ski.

  2. 02

    2Ti FluxForm All Mountain

Two titanal reinforcements damp vibration and hold the ski on a firm base, giving the broad platform composure when speed increases.

  3. 03

    Rocker/camber/rocker shape

Early rise at both ends with 6 mm camber underfoot helps the ski plane and pivot while retaining pressure through a carved turn.

  4. 04

    Full ABS sidewall

Full ABS sidewalls carry boot pressure to the edges and support a solid sandwich construction in tracked and firm snow.

  5. 05

    102 mm platform

The 102 mm waist supplies meaningful float and landing support, with a directional feel that favors open lines over tight, quick slalom turns.

  6. 06

    Flat ski

Bindings are selected separately; the manufacturer provides a suggested binding rather than an included system.
