Overview

The Atomic Maverick 88 CTI is the frontside-leaning member of the Maverick range, designed for groomers, bumps and light off-trail snow. Its nominal 88 mm platform changes edges quickly while retaining enough width for trees and soft patches. SkiEssentials' exact 2027 test calls it nimble and precise, with the updated graphic on an otherwise unchanged construction, and recommends it for all-mountain and groomer skiing.

The poplar-and-ash Power Woodcore uses carbon and titanal to add bite, stability and energy without making the ski a full-power charger. Rocker/Camber/Rocker and HRZN 3D at the tip ease entry and keep the ski manoeuvrable, but the shape needs active skier input rather than pulling itself into a carve. Testers praised its trail performance and versatility while noting some shovel chatter and limited powder width.

Choose it for skiers who spend most days on piste but want bumps, trees and light snow in the same ski. Progressing intermediates can grow into it, while advanced and expert skiers can push its edge grip and quickness. A Maverick 96 gives more off-piste range, and a dedicated piste ski is more precise on hard ice. The 88 CTI is a directional all-mountain compromise with a clear firm-snow bias.
