Overview

The Atomic Maverick 105 CTI is a wide all-mountain freeride ski for skiers who spend much of the season in soft snow but still need a platform for mixed resort conditions. Its nominal 105 mm waist ranges from 103.5 to 105 mm across the offered lengths; this sits in a useful middle ground: enough flotation for powder and trees without the specialised bulk of the 115. SkiEssentials' 2027 test describes a new look with the construction otherwise unchanged and rates its blend of performance and low-stress handling highly.

CTI Powered combines carbon and titanal with an ash and poplar Power Woodcore, adding edge support, energy and damping. All-Mountain Rocker and the HRZN 3D tip help the ski plane and release in soft snow, while the directional shape still rewards a committed edge on firmer runs. Testers disagreed on high-speed composure, from excellent mixed-snow confidence to chatter for an aggressive skier, so its behaviour depends on skier weight, speed and snow.

Choose it as a soft-snow daily driver for advanced skiers and experts who want to vary turn shape and drift without giving up support. It is more adaptable than the 115, yet still too wide for precise hard-snow carving as a primary use. Lighter or less aggressive skiers may find it approachable; aggressive skiers seeking a charger should compare heavier, more damp skis. The Maverick 105 earns its range through balance rather than perfection in every condition.

Construction & features

What the MAVERICK 105 CTI is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    CTI Powered

A carbon-and-titanal reinforcement system balances torsional support, energy and flex for mixed-snow skiing.

  2. 02

    Power Woodcore

Ash and poplar in the wood core add stability and vibration absorption.

  3. 03

    All Mountain Rocker 20/65/15

The 20/65/15 directional profile combines tip rocker, camber and modest tail rocker; the ratio is the model profile, while waist dimensions vary by length.

  4. 04

    HRZN 3D tip

The three-dimensional tip increases surface area for flotation and easier handling in deeper snow.

  5. 05

    Dura Cap Sidewall

The sidewall construction transfers pressure to the steel edge for support on firm snow.

  6. 06

Skis only — bindings sold separately

The flat ski is supplied without bindings; reference weight excludes bindings.
