Overview
The women’s Rossignol Savage Open brings a zebra-stripe graphic to a wide, directional freeride shape for mixed resort snow and off-piste exploration. Waist width changes with length, from 100 to 104 mm, providing support in soft snow while retaining a useful sidecut for the runs between lines. This is the wider, unmounted Savage, distinct from the 84 mm KONECT version. Bindings and mounting are chosen separately.
A poplar core and underfoot Titanal Beam create a supportive center, with full sidewalls transmitting pressure to the edges. Air Tip reduces mass toward the shovel, while VAS and the central Line Control structure address vibration and unwanted flex. Tip-and-tail rocker makes the ends easier to release; a progressive sidecut is designed to combine carving with drifting or smearing through uneven snow. These construction choices aim for a connected ride without turning the ski into a narrow piste specialist.
Choose it for an advanced or expert skier who prioritizes soft patches, trees and varied terrain but still wants to carve back to the lift. Its wider platform gives up some edge-to-edge quickness on hard snow, while a dedicated powder ski offers more support on the deepest days. The firm middle rewards deliberate input; someone seeking an especially soft, loose ski should compare a more forgiving freeride design. The separate binding choice lets the setup follow the skier’s intended use.
Construction & features
What the WOMEN'S SAVAGE OPEN is built from, and what that means on snow.
- 01
Titanal Beam
The underfoot Titanal Beam adds edge grip, power transfer and rebound without making the whole ski rigid.
- 02
Poplar wood core
Poplar gives the ski a lively, balanced core for responsive turns and moderate damping.
- 03
Air Tip
Air Tip reduces mass at the shovel and helps the ski turn easily in trees and bumps.
- 04
Progressive Tip & Tail Rocker
Tip and tail rocker make turn entry and release easier while camber underfoot retains grip.
- 05
Progressive Sidecut
The progressive outline supports both a carved arc on firm snow and a drifted turn in soft or uneven terrain.
- 06
Rectangular Full Sidewall
Full-height sidewalls transmit pressure to the edges for precision and hold on groomers.
- 07
V-A-S
V-A-S reduces vibration and helps keep the ski connected to changing snow surfaces.
- 08
Open flat ski
The Alpine Open version is sold without bindings; binding choice and mounting are separate.
