Overview

The Rossignol Arcade 84 is a frontside-leaning all-mountain ski carried into 2027 with the same shape and graphics as the previous season. Its 84 mm waist, modest rocker and almost untapered outline make it a natural choice for resort skiers who spend most of their time on groomers, bumps and firm, skied-in snow. It is sold flat, so bindings and mounting remain the buyer's choice.

A thick poplar core, central Titanal Beam and Line Control Technology give the ski a connected platform that holds an edge and returns energy from short and medium turns. Rossignol's VAS tip damping is intended to quiet the shovel, while full sidewalls pass pressure directly into the edges. The long effective edge and restrained rocker help it carve cleanly, but the relatively short radius encourages active turn shaping. SkiEssentials testers describe the 2027 model as damp and energetic, with enough width and flex to handle bumps and crud while remaining particularly strong on hard snow.

Choose the Arcade 84 if you are an intermediate skier progressing toward stronger carving, or an advanced or expert skier who wants a precise resort tool with some off-piste latitude. It rewards a deliberate stance and pressure through the turn; a passive skier may find its stiffness demanding. The narrow platform and limited rocker give away float in deep snow, and its directional tail is less playful than a freeride or twin-tip ski. For more off-trail balance choose a wider model; for maximum grip and speed the Arcade 88's fuller metal build is the more forceful option.

Construction & features

What the ARCADE 84 OPEN is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Titanal Beam

A central Titanal beam adds torsional support underfoot, helping the ski stay composed and hold its edge through firm turns.

  2. 02

    Line Control Technology

The LCT strip works through the center of the ski to reduce vibration and keep pressure connected from tip to tail.

  3. 03

    Poplar wood core

The thick poplar core supplies the substantial flex and rebound that make the Arcade 84 energetic rather than loose or soft.

  4. 04

    VAS tip damping

Rossignol's VAS material in the tip damps high-frequency chatter, making the shovel quieter over firm snow and rough patches.

  5. 05

    Rocker / Camber / Rocker

Camber underfoot provides edge contact and rebound, while rocker at both ends eases turn entry and helps the ski move through bumps.

  6. 06

    Progressive sidecut

The pronounced, nearly untapered outline creates a short-to-medium turn shape and a long effective edge for carving grip.

  7. 07

    Rectangular full sidewall

Full-height sidewalls transfer boot pressure efficiently into the edges, supporting predictable grip on groomed snow.

  8. 08

    Open flat ski

The Open version is sold without bindings, allowing the skier to choose a compatible binding and mounting position separately.
