Overview

The Rossignol Soul 92 is a new-for-2027 all-mountain ski that narrows the Soul platform into a quick, mixed-terrain option. Its 92 mm waist is easier to roll edge to edge on groomers than the Soul 102, while tip and tail rocker keep bumps, trees and soft snow in reach. The Open version is sold flat, so the buyer chooses bindings and mounting rather than receiving a fixed system package.

A poplar core, central Titanal Beam and Line Control Technology give the middle of the ski a firm, connected feel. Rossignol pairs that structure with Air Tip to lower swing weight, full sidewalls for edge transmission, and a progressive sidecut. SkiEssentials testers describe strong grip and front-driven power with a softer shovel that accepts skier input; a neutral stance makes it maneuverable, while the rocker profile should help it float. The tail and underfoot flex are relatively stout, so it prefers deliberate pressure over passive steering.

Pick it for an intermediate-to-expert skier who wants one ski for carving, bumps and moderate soft snow, especially when a 100-plus waist feels excessive. It is more piste-friendly and nimble than a wider freeride ski, but still more forgiving and exploratory than a race-derived carver. The compromise is reduced float in deep snow and less planted calm than a heavier, more damp model when speed and chop rise. Skiers seeking a loose, surfy twin-tip feel may also find its directional shape and firm tail more serious than expected.

Construction & features

What the Men's SOUL 92 OPEN is built from, and what that means on snow.

  1. 01

    Titanal Beam

The central metal beam adds edge hold and support underfoot without making the entire ski metal-heavy.

  2. 02

    Line Control Technology

A central vertical reinforcement helps keep pressure connected along the ski and limits vibration.

  3. 03

    Poplar wood core

Poplar forms the lively wood platform for responsive turns.

  4. 04

    Air Tip

Air Tip trims mass at the shovel to make quick direction changes easier.

  5. 05

    Rocker / Camber / Rocker

Rocker at the ends aids release and soft-snow maneuverability while camber preserves piste grip.

  6. 06

    Progressive Sidecut

The outline blends carving entry with a shape that can be feathered in bumps and variable snow.

  7. 07

    Rectangular Full Sidewall

Full sidewalls transmit skier pressure directly to the edges for hard-snow bite.

  8. 08

    Open flat ski

The Open ski is sold without bindings; mounting and binding choice remain separate decisions.
